Glad you liked the cartoon - thanks for sharing it! And for what it's worth, I think it's more that what's died is the tag cloud as must-have gimmick. (Note we still have one on the Social Signal site.)

[Editor's note: i have no idea wtf this comment is doing here but it seems legit. Uh, thanks caroline?]

Does anyone have experience of mobile broadband coverage in Cornwall? I travel down their regularly and am thinking about signing up with a mobile broadband provider but have heard coverage can be poor in some rural areas. I’ve been looking at various different mobile broadband providers here: http://www.broadband-expert.co.uk/broadband/mobile and am leaning towards Vodafone.

Any advice would be great. I don’t want to sign up and find I’m paying for a product that doesn’t work!

Ah - ha! So many questions. I guess you'll just have to read the book which is usually available at www.renebooks.com but may be offline for the moment as they are planning a re-release. If you can't get it off Amazon, drop me a line. I can guarantee you will enjoy the story.

Touche, my friend! I admit, my characterization of you as 'stuffy' was ill-considered and hasty. I apologize, and at the same time appreciate the deft comment you've left me. Now I will go read more of your writing as penance.

And yes, sadly, Satanosphere has withered on the proverbial vine the last few years as the three founders have become busy living, running other bigger things, starting families, etc.

I must say that I find your characterization of me as stuffy to be rather, well, stuffy. Sir, look into the window of your soul!

Aside from that, SOS seems (seemed?) to be a fun site, and while I liked the concept of jelqing for a blog, you far out did whatever crap I'd throw together, so it was better to just try and hand any readers your way, so that they could unravel the mysteries of jelqing.

There are times I wish I was a poet, because "unravel the mysteries of jelqing" so should lead into something poetic and brilliant that would open people's eyes to the plight of man. Or at least, to the plight of men in need of a good jelq.

Anyway, best regards,

If I'm not mistaken, this is a reference to the imagery associated with a four-legged being lifting one leg to, shall we say, relieve itself. The application in positions is likely a modification of 'doggy style', a seeming origination of the aforementioned phrase - that is, doggy style, on all fours, but with one leg lifted and the foot placed flat on the (ground, bed, whatever). Easier access, still degrading. What more can you hope for?

Editor's note: 'Monkey Style' goes great with this - a modification of 'doggy style', but the act-of is performed in a half-squatting postition by the male. You've seen it.

I was actually pretty confused by that reference as well, but being a ong-time veteral of pornography has given me an insight, I believe.

Yeah that's odd. I was pulling for the RedSox a little over a week ago and made this Flickr post which appears to have been sucked into the void as a draft and then only posted yesterday when I posted a real story. Now I would make a google.montage that says Angel, which might be pretty.

(not sure if my other comment went through... let's go for the best two out of three!)

The recipe does sound a little bit naughty, and I salute your keen sense of humour.

Regarding bicycles, I would recommend perusing Recycled Cycles in the university district. CBC's bulletin board occasionally has some bargains.

Okay. I'm sorry. That's not fair. I should really give credit.

Of course, all I've done is reframe the loving work of the mapofspringfield.com kids with a new context. If I knew how I'd embed a link in there somehow.

I got it! There was a whole bunch of weirdneses going on, trying to get the formatting acceptable, to go into ul/li tags for the sidebar over there ->

What was the problem, was that the amazon URLs, which i posted to del.icio.us were full of nasty nasty %percent% delimited data. Those did NOT play nice at all with RSS Digest's percent-delimited special tags. In fact, they prety much ATE UP the special data I was getting back from RSS Digest.

But I fixed it. By shortening the amazon URL to it's most basic form : truncated right after the 'ASIN/988309283' string. Poop! Now, maybe someday, i'll find an amazon bookmarklet/shortcutlet that will return sanitized URLs. Or maybe I'll make one.
