The Snowclones Database

The Snowclones Database is a good demonstration of what should be a Rule of the Internet: If there are more than a half dozen variations of a thing, there will be a blog or wiki detailing these variations.

The site’s an enumeration of phrases like, “if there is an X there is Y of it,” (which I just made up!) — and then the blogar people of Snowclones.org go ahead and try to determine as many varieties of that phrase as they can from Google, and some kind of perl script apparently. The Snowclones.org crew work all the way through such important formulations as “In Soviet Russia, X Ys you” and I for one welcome our X overlords, and produce a pretty entertaining site. Although, I’m all the way finished reading it now, and I’m not sure how much material there is for them yet to discover.

NB: The best-known Rule of the Internet is of course #34If you can imagine it, there is porn of it, no exceptions.
And also:
35. If no porn is found of it, it will be created.
36. No matter what it is, it is somebody’s fetish. No exceptions.

Super Bionic Xmas!

Some things you never really get over. For many of my “peers”, that would be Transformers, or A-Team.

For me it is Super Friends and the Six Million Dollar Man.

Here are two lovely album covers, and if you follow the provided link and the do a heavy bit of scrolling with your mouse-wheel, you can download two of the most awkwardly nostalgic and unlistenable Christmas albums of all time.
