an old-school whiner

“Although I am familiar with printer hardware and networking protocols, installation on my LaserJet 6MP and PC running Windows XP Pro was difficult. Firstly, the print server did not fit into the available space in the comparment housing the Centronics port, so I had to leave the right rear cover off in order to close the side cover (which protects the circuit boards and memory). Secondly, the Quick Install Guide and Users Manual were out-of-date and useless as regards software installation. After an hour on the phone with a supervisor at Technical Support I finally got the device working properly. That said, it works extremely well on both my hard-wired and wireless networks.”

This sounds like something I would have composed in PINE and sent to a listserv about a 9600b modem, or posted to comp.dcom.modems from ‘tin’. I think it’s supposed to be a “review” of a very hip USB webcam though.
