Wow. I was just going through these pages, and the Apropos Foley thing I wrote about yesterday sort of struck me in a different way. Being an adminstrator of things that end with ‘nix’ sometimes you want to see if there is any information in the documenation system of your machine, and there’s this command to search for such things. That command is ‘apropos’ (or ‘whatis’).
So yesterday or something, I wrote ‘apropos foley’ … and now today I typed it at the command-line of my system. The results are … well, let’s just say, here are the results:
/reblog/refeed$ apropos foley
foley: nothing appropriate.
/reblog/refeed$ whatis foley
foley: nothing appropriate.
/reblog/refeed$ man foley
No manual entry for foley
Those are all that seem to work. Pretty funny?
