it’s just a pacifier, honest!

One of my favorite things to read every day, or at least as often as I can get to it, is AskMetafilter.

Here’s a good one that kind of explains in and of itself how you can spend a whole lot of time reading a web page: Pro-sex feminist - how to feel less threatened by porn?

Good parts:

I mean, if you give a baby a pacifier does that mean it doesn’t want its mothers milk?

when trying to imagine how the porn can be simply neutral or even possibly helpful, imagine that when you see “House Beautiful”, or “National Geographic”, or whatever floats your boat, that it doesn’t necessarily mean that you hate your house, or that you’re just dying to move to Morocco… But those images may give you some ideas about adding a spot of color to your living room, or where to go on holiday with your boyfriend.

When you look at it, it’s like looking at room designs, you can think: God, that’s ugly, or I never thought of doing that before, that seems like the perfect solution for the living room!

Also good: a link to a very memorable Savage Love episode Porn - No way.
